New photography exhibition opens at the Arches 4th Sept

Postby alexboyd » Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:17 am

Hello everyone, I have my first photography show at The Arches, which opens this Thursday at 6pm.

It will showcase a new series of my landscapes which can be viewed at http://www.alexboyd.co.uk called "Sonnets from Scotland" Everyone is invited, and as the event is sponsored by Angnoc whisky, everyone gets a free drink :D

Here is the press blurb:

"Stunning, and very compelling"

- Harry Benson (on Sonnets from Scotland)

Sonnets from Scotland draws its name from an early collection of Edwin Morgan’s poems and questions the depiction of Scottish landscapes and our relationships to them. It presents Scotland reduced to a series of cinematic set pieces and analyses the traditional and collective Scottish longing for an idealised picturesque representation of the land.
