I'm trying to figure out where they were taken though - any ideas anyone?

I think the church is the best bet. The drying green suggests it must be in Scotland (I've not seen anything like it elsewhere.) If you can enlarge the church it might be more recognisable.

Have been having a look at churches, the one in invergordon looks a possible?
Due to cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel is off until further notice!

Reply from an e-mail

P*****,
Sorry to disappoint you but I'm certain this is not the Church of Scotland in Invergordon. For reference I point you to one of the many pictures we have in the Image library (http://www.theoldhometown.com/invergord ... ber173.asp). You can see profile is quite different and the clock faces are much lower.
Good luck with your quest.
