Ok, I messed up. Had a few pics taken at a family wedding with my sisters - which I really need to get printed up.

Problem is the light is behind us and they look crap.

Any photoshop suggestions that might improve them?

Was the photographer pissed ?

If they were taken as raw files you might be able to rescue them with Lightroom.

( I did tell you that you should be using Lightroom )

do you use Picassa LG? I've found that if the foreground is too dark and the Background is to light, using the "Highlights" Slider at the Tuning tab lets you lighten up the foreground without affecting the background. Never tried on a photo taken directly into the Sun though. Isn't that called "Contra Jour" against the light?

oopst typing faster than my brain could follow again, I meant the Fill light slider , not the Highlight slider

If you've got Photoshop then try using the Shadow/Highlight tool. It can be a bit harsh, so use it carefully, but it might be just the ticket.
