The farm near Islay Ave was a isolation farm for infected cattle. It was over a little wooden bridge and was on the bank of the canal. The farm was owned by the Gows. The only other animal farms, were piggeries, one at the top of Strathcona Dr, and one just past the big canal bridge on Beardsden Rd on the steep hil, and facing Dawsholm Park.
Yes, that was the Lock-keeper's cottage mentioned above. The piggery was a wee red brick building just beside it.
