National Halls

I have someone married at the National Halls 127 Main st Glasgow about 1900. I cant find any info on the place, can anyone help? Where exactly was/is it? Any photos? Thanks.

Have a look in the Post Office Glasgow Directory for 1900 (in the Mitchell). Main Street could have been in Bridgeton, Rutherglen or another suburb.

Just an update. It was 127 Main Street Gorbals, I think its now Gorbals st? The halls were in 2 parts, the Grand National Halls or the Good Templars and the Lesser National Halls. They were used for functions, weddings, meetings etc and were pulled down and replaced by the Palace Theatre in 1904. See here http://www.arthurlloyd.co.uk/Glasgow/PalaceTheatre.htm

Well done. Try the Mitchell for street pictures. Or the archives of the Good Templars.
