SHARK IN A GLASGOW STREET?

Postby Darkangel » Tue Aug 11, 2009 3:13 pm

I was reading a book this weekend called Haunted Glasgow and in one chapter entitled 'weird stories', the author was talking about animals appearing out of nowhere, noteably a zebra eel found in a garden in Edinburgh, i googled it and found info on it, but the next sentence mentioned a shark found in a Glasgow street (no not the loan sort :)), no mention of the street or year etc, probably fell off the back of a lorry going to the fish market ::):

I cannot find any info online about it and just wondered if anyone has any info? or any other info on strange appearing animals or suchlike around Glasgow?

Forgive me if this has been posted before but i could'nt find it on the site, im a newbie . . .be gentle :?

Could it be the famous Bearsden Shark?

Can't find anything online but i know a while ago (15-20 years) there was a baby lepoard and a big golden eagle i think found at the old hospital on London Road. They don't know how they got there but i have a hunch that it may have been some illegal trading etc going on in that abandoned hospital :)

No. It just hadn't been moved from the original location. Oversight now corrected.

I'm sure there must be sharks in the Kelvin, judging by the gear that the local neds use to fish the river with ::):
