This ones a little obscure, but still it meets the criteria, an old neighbour of mine, Scott Mcdonald, cut an album out in Australia titled "Millbrae Road" after the street name of where we stayed.
Used his front door as the album cover, if it was me I would have used Millbrae cresent as it had just finnished being done up at the time with all its old lamp posts and railings being restored.

Could have done, a graphic designer to trade I think, couldnt tell you where he worked.
By eck, held a tremendous party when he left for oz.
Cleared his flat out and got his band chums in. Whooaaph!
He's now settled out on one of the Highland Islands now.
Do you know him? or does he owe you money? mind he was only my neighbour. :)

I do business with his former employers, who were by all accounts very happy to see him go. I didn't know the guy more than just to speak too, but I remember when he left there was a wee story about him in the Daily Ranger.

"It might as well be Springburn"

There's another one!

More duffers!

The Cod Liver Oil And The Orange Juice

not written by but made really famous by Hamish Imlach

Mentions:

Brigton

Dennistoun

Gorbals.

A song by Adam McNaughton that springs to mind (though the title doesn't) has the lines

"Don't wear a green scarf in Brigton
Or a blue wan in Cumberland Street
Unless yer a heavyweight champion
Or helluva quick on yer feet"

Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy are two of the more unlikelier acts to have mentioned Glasgow.

In Alice's 'For Britain Only'

We blasted Glasgow, invaded France
Assaulted Sweden, took down our pants

and in Thin Lizzy's 'Sitamoia'

Hey mister can I shine your shoes?
Hey mister can I sing the blues?
Hey mister do you think it's gonna snow?
Hey mister my heart belongs to Glasgow.

Chorus:

There’s Partick Cross and Cessnock, Hillhead and Merkland Street,

George’s Cross and Govan Cross where all the people meet

West Street, Shields Road, the train goes round and round

You’ve never lived unless you’ve been on The Glasgow Underground.

They tell me that Majorca is a dandy place to be

Or Switzerland or Italy or even Gay Paree,

There’s many lovely beauty spots upon the Clyde of Firth

But I would rather always travel doon below the earth.

Chorus:

There’s Partick Cross and Cessnock, Hillhead and Merkland Street,

George’s Cross and Govan Cross where all the people meet

West Street, Shields Road, the train goes round and round

You’ve never lived unless you’ve been on The Glasgow Underground.

There’s names that ring like magic that can thrill you through and through

They seem to call you back wi’ an enchantment never knew

There’s places far away are like a song that’s sweetly sung

You’ll roll them round your mooth and feel them slidin’ aff yer tongue.

Chorus:

There’s Partick Cross and Cessnock, Hillhead and Merkland Street,

George’s Cross and Govan Cross where all the people meet

West Street, Shields Road, the train goes round and round

You’ve never lived unless you’ve been on The Glasgow Underground.

I never liked the stourie winds, the showers or the snaw,

The sun can get too burny and the sleet’s no nice at a’

But I don’t mind the climate now as on my way I go

The dolce vita’s waiting there a hundred feet below.

Chorus:

There’s Partick Cross and Cessnock, Hillhead and Merkland Street,

George’s Cross and Govan Cross where all the people meet

West Street, Shields Road, the train goes round and round

You’ve never lived unless you’ve been on The Glasgow Underground.

I was hoping Slam or the Mosa Funk Club could put a beat to it and turn it into a JB styled Night Train
