Thought about this a bit this AM
Came up with
"Raining on Jocelyn Square" by Love and Money
and
"Killermount Street" by Aztec Camera.
I'm sure there must be more...how about "Headlights on the Parade" by the Blue Nile?

People often the cite the "Westwood to Hollywood" line from "Somewhere in my heart" by the Aztecs but Roddy Frame always says in interviews that he meant Westwood in LA not the East Kilbride one.

PS. Useless information...Jack Bruces's mum lived about 2 streets away from where Mr. Frame grew up.

Jack Bruce recorded an album called "Harmony Row". Frankie Miller had a number of songs with Glasgow references (eg "Drunken Nights in the City") and of course the one and only Alex Harvey had a few - anyone agree with me that the song "Buff's Bar Blues" refers to the Buff's Club on Sauchiehall Street?

Michael Marra wrote "Mother Glasgow" about this fair city, and Jim Wilkie had a song called "Glasgow" - he wrote one of my favourite lines: "Oh Mister McEwan, you will be my ruin/ Please take me out drinking tonight".

On a different planet, there was the old BBC Scotland signature tune, "Will ye gang to Kelvingrove, bonnie lassie oh".

I was born in Glasgow by Billy Connolly

"I was born in Glasgow, Near the center of the town,
I'd take you there and show you, but the've pulled the building down."

Ronnie

I was just searching for images on google one day and I came across it, I could not even get on to the website it came from to have a look at who created it. I stole it and edited it a bit.

A lot of them seem to have Glasgow in the title, rather than a Glasgow placename in the lyrics...hmmm...

How about "Letter from America" by the Proclaimers? That lists a few places. They're probably all on the East Coast though...

If you wanted to push the boundaries a bit I suppose there's always "Stompin' at the Savoy" by Count Basie
or how about
The Beatles sining
"Pennilee there is a barber taking photographs..."
or Bob Dylans "Positively Sauchihall Street"
Simon and Garfunkels "Argyll Street Bridge Song"

there must be more of these...
