My best cock-ups are on the Airdrie expresses, all stops milngavie to high street then express to blairhill, always one on before high street with a ticket to bellgrove, they just ignore the in train messages and driver announcements. Funny as they have to travel to blairhill then cross over and back to bellgrove etc. You get the same on the 1727 QS-Helesnburgh stops partick then doesnt stop until dumbarton central, you get people with tickets to drumchapel, hyndland dalmuir, had one guy saying...'i never listen to the train announcements as theyre always wrong' well that day instead of getting off at hyndland he had to travel to dumbarton ::):

I've done that on the Airdrie express. I'm only at Easterhouse so it's not that bad. Still feel like a right tadger though.

11a must have made a bad name for itself...maybe it should think about getting a new identity

It wont change. If 12 and 13 are to become 14 and 15,will the low levels be 16 and 17.and where exactly is this new platform to be built.

To quote the soon to be made redundant Times journo:

"Network Rail today revealed the new numbers for Glasgow Central high-level platforms. Platform 11a will become platform 12; 12 will become 14; and 13 will become 15.

Platform 13 is the number to be given to a new platform being built to accommodate passengers travelling to the airport".

Is to be built where the car drop off point is.

You used to be able to get off at Garscadden where the crews used to get off.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

There was a sign on display at Central tonight saying precisely that - the platform numbers will change between Christmas and New Year, when that part of central is closed.

1-11 stay as they are
11a (otherwise known as "Tradeston Station" :-) ) becomes 12
13 unallocated - 12 and 13 will eventually move into the car park space between the current 11 and 12.
12 becomes 14
13 becomes 15
and the low level platforms become 16 & 17

I hate platform 11a...

We must fight it before it becomes 12 and takes over the world and all platforms will be at least 3 miles away.

Dalmarnock is a shit hole, smells like one as well! Off topic, I know but is it true that The current Argyle Street train station was built on top of the old one? Someone told me that a couple of weeks ago. The old one is still in intact supposedly. Don't believe myself but someone I know said he was told that piece of information by a History buff from Glasgow Uni. Mr John Hall I believe his name was.

Argyle Street station was a completely new station for the reopening of that line, I thought. Glasgow Cross and Glasgow Green stations used to be on that line, but Argyle Street was built on top of neither.

The new p12 &13 will be where the short term car park is, i.e. inside the archway.
