Dalmuir.
(Ok I know it's not in Glasgow, but it's an important station for Glasgow and needs some serious work)

Haw thats mah depot ::):

Its due for upgrade 2009 - lifts to all platforms.

Worst station has to be Dalmarnock, its scares the shit outta me, it reminds me of a location for a horror movie, i keep expecting one night when the doors open Ripley and the Mother Alien to come on my train.

My local station is surely a candidate - I give you Newton!

Top of the rail crime hot list:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/tay ... 519745.stm

Added to which, it's exposed position makes it a howling, miserable place to be in inclement weather, and the station building and underpass are both grim in the extreme!

Surely there are about 10,000 Glasgow Bus stops that are more grim than the worst Train Station

Railway stations, please!

My vote would also go to Dalmarnock - fortunately I've never alighted there although I used to use Bridgeton Cross (not much better) many moons ago.

Thinking about it, the whole of the Argyle Line between Newton and Anderston would probably qualify - Newton I've done, but:

Cambuslang has those awful reconstructed stone retaining walls, ramps and wire fencing, makes you feel like you're being herded towards a concentration camp - the gravestones in the adjacent stone mason's yard don't help either!

Rutherglen has that hideous orange plastic perspex bridge and station, especially smelly on a hot day.

Dalmarnock appears to serve nothing much more than industrial wasteland from a cutting which has mysterious orange slime oozing out of the walls. I only hope 2014 sees this being given a serious spruce up!

Bridgeton depresses with that filthy big sign made up of individual letters and the general environment it deposits you into at Bridgeton Cross, although I suppose that's not the fault of the railway - hopefully Bridgeton Cross and, especially the approach to it from Dalmarnock Rd will also benefit from 2014. Not to mention the flags and other sectarian bullshit visible from the platforms round about the marching season.

Argyle St and Central look absolutely manky and dated, despite refurbishments in the last ten years or so - especially the former, the bit under the platforms astounds me with how terribly the materials used in the refurb have aged so quickly!

And Anderston - well, if ever a station had an uphill battle against its location, then sitting in a traffic island under a huge motorway flyover is surely the top trumps of shit station locales.

Sigh, no wonder I drive to work these days!

It has to be Dalmarnock which I have the pleasure of going through most days in the train.

Bellgrove on a dark Friday night would be up there as well, especially if you get off at the far end of the platform.

Glasgow Green. The platforms are rubbish and you wait years for a train to stop.

Not all the cameras are CCTV, some are train door cameras for the drivers, all the systems are being upgraded AND in a few years time when the 320s arrive theyll be needed.

I cant wait till dalmarnock gets replaced, the sewerage that runs down the track bed is soooooo lovely and appealing.
