Yes that's right. Straight from Dixon of Dock Green's PNB.
How perceptive of you.

Any chance you could take a photo next time you are out with a camera!

Sorry for the delay. The problem with taking the photo was...
(A) Any time I was in the pub I was to pissed to remember
(B) Producing a camera in the guys toilets of a Glasgow pub is likely to result in a 'burst mooth!'

Anyway here it is, can anyone shed any light?

Showzit, I think it may be the initials of 'Rangers Football Club' in reverse.

I have started noticing these fairly recently and my curiosity got the better of me. I assume it is some kind of survey mark but wondered if anyone on here could confirm this and perhaps offer some insight? This particular stud or nail can be found on the corner of Denmark Street & Keppochhill Road: (+55° 53' 11.10", -4° 15' 5.85")

Yeah that's exactly what they are - 'Survey Stations'. They put them in , verify them with a base station electronically and then take measurements of a site or building from these relative points, all to a high degree of accuracy.

Dont ask me how right enough.

No problem BD.

It's interesting, I was thinking of this query this morning while walking for the train, and it was surprising the number of the things I spotted just in a short 5 minute walk.

If there is a fairly new building in an area, you are bound to spot them - corners of streets, half way along pavements etc.

Some older ones are loose as well. You could have them. :D

Are you sure, busdriver? Denmark Street ends at Allander Street, a fair bit away from Keppochhill Road. It does go to Hawthorn Street in the other direction (North), in fact crossing it and continuing until it turns West (and morphs into Lomond Road) just before the railway line.
