Starting at Burnside Station, East Kibride Rd begins a relentless climb up through Whitlawburn and Cathkin before meeting the dual carriageway up to Nerston in East Kilbride. Not hugely steep on any section, but hideously never-ending!
Alternatively, starting at King's Park Station, take Carmunnock Rd all the way through Simshill and Castlemilk to Carmunnock itself.

That's (well part of) my twice weekly run, except I run up OId Castle Road (past the Old Smiddy), through Simshill and then onto Carmunnock Rd. - must be very nearly a 3 mile slog uphill (it's definitely about 2.5 miles from Delvin Rd to the roundabout before Carmunnock).gap74 wrote:Alternatively, starting at King's Park Station, take Carmunnock Rd all the way through Simshill and Castlemilk to Carmunnock itself.
