"david marshal done sfa for the east end in all those years of lining his pockets". Strong statment CB and no doubt you will have the usuall supects asking for evidence.
I was at a relatives house who also lives in the East End and there sentiments were that Labour just took there vote for granted and were arrogent about it. Most of them say one thing and do another , all parties are the same we could go on and on. All you can do now is vote for the one that seems to being telling the least amount of Lies.
Thank you. And why not.

ho ho ho its gonna be a toughy for Labour alright. And what a kick in the gut it'll be if they lose. Especially if it's to the SNP. You never know though, Solidarity might just pull a fast one ...err... ::):

Job Vacancies

Wanted a Labour candidate. Due to a complete lack of interest within we will now advertise outwith . All war mongers and anti Scottish independent people may apply.

Skills Required.

Able to fib like hell to your constituents and do as little as possible for an obscene wage.

Do some photo shoots with some greetin faced wains.

Do go against your principles because that’s what your leader wants.

Please apply to Gordon Brown very quickly please as I wont be around for to long either.
Thank you. And why not.

I really don't have much time for party politics, but I despair sometimes over just how shit Labour would need to be to get some folk in Glasgow to stop voting for them.

Was amused on my way to Blochairn car market the other day to see that Labour have got posters on the lamposts already, despite not actually managing to summon up a candidate yet!

Depends what people think David Marshall should have done.

I've never had any dealings with Marshall so don't know what he's like dealing with the petty grumbles of constituents - council disputes, neighbour disputes, police disputes, parking disputes, etc. - that make up much of an MP's workload. Perhaps he was incompetent at this - does anyone know?

If anyone thinks Marshall should somehow have transformed Glasgow East by a series of magical Bills - each one more brilliant than the last - then they're seriously overestimating the influence of an ordinary, plodding, backbench MP.
Jim Hacker: "Are you saying that winking at corruption is government policy?"
Sir Humphrey: "No, no, Minister. It could never be government policy. That is unthinkable. Only government practice."

Answer = I think David Marshall should have claimed less expenses!

Questions were being asked and he took the honourable way out and did an Ernest Saunders.

I think SNP have made abit of a blunder putting Tom Mason up as their candidate. He's too old in a purely facile sense. What I mean by that is he is not young enough to appeal to the younger voters who don't and won't vote Labour just because their parents did, and he has little chance of changing the minds of the traditional (older) Labour voter who will most definitely support Margaret Curran.

We'll see what happens with the televised debate Curran has called for.
