Makes sense though, I think. Larkfield is simply no longer fit for purpose and the new site is just round the corner. Gushetfaulds used to be a Freightliner depot but it was shut years ago. So it's good to know that it will be put to another transport use.

Sadly, Mr St Clair !

Unlike you, most contributors to this forum (and the other major Glasgow Forums) have no inclination to wipe other people's arses for we feel that that is an individual responsibilty.

However, should you feel that we as contributors should do so, then perhaps you; with your obvious experience in doing so; would like to organise a Training and Development Course to teach the rest of us how to do it !

IIRC it is arequirement for all commerical vehicles (from hi-transit van upwards) to have the height displayed for the driver to see - for car parks, bridges etc. This could be a dashboard plate, since the 'handbook' is likely to go missing. This must also include any addition materials carried on a roof/side rack etc.

Get yer taxi fares oot or walk it

ET

Late night buses get the chop

LATE night bus services across Glasgow are to be axed in a timetable shake up.
Operator First say that due to low demand the late night services in the small hours of Friday morning must go.
All Thursday night/Friday morning night service journeys between 1am and 4.30am will be scrapped.
Eddie Tobin, of Glasgow Nightclub Forum, says the cuts will hit clubbers.

I see the teacher who fled the drum popped in today.

You can tell he was a teacher with his use of punctuation: semi colon, semi colon, explanation mark. But like many pedagogues is unable to accept criticism without a tawse in his hand. I still miss his contributions to the wee joke topic where he posted most of his missives.

Oh wow, a reply from the magnificent Mr Sinclair !

Sorry to disappoint you DS (those initials have very significant meaning here in Oz and that meaning fits you perfectly) but I am not 'the teacher who fled theDrum'. My parents chose to emigrate to Australia at the end of 1960 (I wast ten years old at the time) in search of a better life.

Neither am I a teacher who can't accept criticism without a tawse in my hand for, here in Australia, Corporal Punishment in classrooms was banned many years ago.

Nor am I person who would use an 'EXPLANATION' mark in any correspondence, or the person who has posted most of his missives in the 'Wee Joke' section of this forum.

The simple fact is I love the various Glasgow Forums but I am sick and tired of DS's (check it out in an Australian Slang dictionary) like you trying to enforce your sick pedagogy (e.g explanation mark instead of exclamation mark) on people who contribute to this forum.

In the words of Billy Connolly, Mr Sinclair, it's time for you to get a manager and stop handling yourself !

I will continue to check out HG forums for any positive information on a search for my Glasgow Roots; I will contribute an opinion or a thank you when necessary; but I certainly will not allow a self-opinionated penis stroker like you to pass your opinion on any contribution I make without the right of reply !

And I think I might have quite a few supporters out there in Cyberspace !

I apolgise to the Mods for my previous post as this most probably wasn't the right place for it.

However, Mr Sinclair chose this thread to attack me and I have used it to answer him accordingly.

Feel free to move it elsewhwere, but please notify other contributors that you have done so for I feel that I am not the only contributor to this forum who has been totally disgusted by his attacks on our opinions.
