Chez Nous Guest House, Hillhead St

Postby allyharp » Mon May 12, 2008 9:33 pm

Anyone know anything about this place? I'd always thought it looked like a very run down hostel, and it's always had plenty of questionable characters loitering outside.

Then my friend told me that when her flat in Cecil St got burgled the police mentioned something about it being a home for reintroducing people into society after getting out of jail. That would explain the above.

Google only brings up reviews of the place, some as recent as 2004. When did it stop taking guests?

"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

Wow, is this true? Proper guests no more?

About 10 yrs ago, I used to know someone that booked any visiting artists to
Glasgow into Chez Nous, that said, truthfully their budget wouldn't have stretched
to the Marriot or Pond, etc. .

Training for Freedom has to be undertaken somewhere, presumably the Executive feel
that the benign, and indeed sometimes naiive, liberlaism of the West End is the most
appropriate to re-prepare them for our small nation.
