Double Yellow - Double Standards???

Postby yoker brian » Mon Mar 10, 2008 9:27 pm

One of the newspapers mentioned on the side of the van recently ran a campaign about drivers disrupting the flow of traffic, in Glasgow, including 4x4's blocking school gates, parking illegally, encroaching on box junctions, blocking of bus lanes / stops etc.....

This was the scene at the corner of Dundas Street and West George Street tonight at around 17:45 - middle of rush hour, I had previously been stuck on a bus waiting to get into the bus stop just to the front of the van.

ET are so busy pontificating at normal plebs, they think the laws don't apply to them.

Maybe Steven Purcell was driving..

For what it's worth, I'm afraid they are legal.

There are no stripes on the kerb indicating loading is prohibited and as they are loading newspapers into the van, they will be allowed to stop there.

If you think that's frustrating wait till you see the Glasgow Parking vans and scooters parked on double yellow lines outside the Glasgow Parking offices (all being ignored by the traffic wardens)
