I've got loads of photos of a group of deer (there must be between 6 to 10 deer there)
that are regular visitors to an area of the Eastend would rather not say here as i've seen
idiots with dogs going there and trying to chase them but when I say regular I mean nearly
every day so if you'd like the location PM me and i'll tell you.

Here are a couple of photos I took on Friday with a Fuji a800 compact camera
I just wish I took the Pentax now but heading upto the Mother in Laws tomorrow
so will be taking it with me just incase they are around.

Spotted one late one night earlier in the year on the hard shoulder of the M8 (not far from Alexandra Park) on my way back from Edinburgh, wasn't quite expecting it so a missed photo op...

I remeber a few years back when i read in the news that a female from glasgow was driving on a country road and ran over a baby deer and had injured it badly.

She brought the deer home and nursed it back to health over time and then released it in to the wild forrest where she had ran over the deer, she tied a tracking system on to the leg of the deer, she constantly goes back to that forrest and tracks down the deer to see how it gets on in life.

A lovely caring person i felt. :D

Ive googled to find the story but havent come up with anything if i do i shall post it.

We are really used to see them on Bute,so nobody seems to bother with them .They come right into the gardens and eat the flowers, bit of a pest.

I said to my mate once ,do you like Venison, he replied yes i love it ,but it's DEAD DEER ./ boom boom.

I saw one on Great Western Rd in Knightswood a few months back, was pretty early in the morning as I was heading to work. I've also seen them in and around Drumchapel, there are loads living in the Bluebell Woods and they often come down into the scheme

We saw a deer on the HG walk yesterday! Just after we'd set off - only about a hundred yards from London Road, crossing a piece of post industrial scrubland.

Thanks Doorstop I might go a walk through there one day.

Not meaning to sound Judgemental but is it safe to walk around that area with a DSLR as i'd be going on my own and using public transport.

Try to keep thinking of it as South Baljaffray and you'll be OK.*

*not to be taken as a serious answer. Only time I'm up there is en route to Cochno Rd.

There are rangers based at Drumore Rd who look after the woods and are more than happy to help.

The area is well served by public transport with First services 9, 20, 40 and 159 passing or terminating nearby.

This may be an idea for a wander at some point in the future.

Know where you are here. I see them often when I'm walking home. One actually ran across the main road in front of me a couple of months ago.

I wish these bloody lunatics with these dogs would pack in chasing these poor creatures. How can someone get joy from this kind of activity. Best not to give exact locations.
