Crow Road has been under threat for years, i know the post-mistress, she was friends with my sister and we all grew up together. That'll affect all the old people up in Broomhill.

2 really ..if you count Spey Road. I know it's on the boundary but it'll cover scheme one.

It's a disgrace really though .. 1½ post offices to cover a sprawl like the Drum.

Post Offices are the responsibility of Westminster, not Holyrood - although I did hear that Lib Dem and SNP MPs had been more successful in keeping rural ones in their areas. Noticed now it's Labour areas getting hit, they're all raging...

Fuck sake :x That's my local one as well. I hate that shit hole in the shopping centre. The Garscadden Road PO usually does fair business with all the old codgers (and me ::): ).

They said within a mile... not that was enough for all the people inside that mile radius...

The wee one on Knightswood Rd would possibly be closer to you - and certainly much nicer. (Although that wouldn't be difficult)

GCC are protesting to the post office about the closures.

GCC item 7- pages pdf doc.

Post Office Network Change Programme
Consultation Exercise
Purpose of Report:
To advise members of the proposals for Glasgow being made by the Post Office as part of the
Network Change Programme which was issued for consultation in October 2007.
Recommendations:
It is recommended that Committee
• Advises the Post Office that the proposal to shut 20 Post Offices in Glasgow is
totally unacceptable; and
• Instructs the Director of DRS to undertake a detailed review of the closure
programme proposed and submit comments to both the Post Office and
Postwatch.

All complaints about branch closures to:-

Sally Buchanan,
Network Development Manager,
National Consultation Team,
Post Office
Freepost

Or alternatively ..

[email protected].

The more complaints the better .. it may reduce the number of Post Offices falling under the axe during the next round of cuts.
