1920s Govan

Postby Sharon » Fri Mar 30, 2007 1:26 pm

Setanta sports are making a programme about Archibald Leitch and are looking for someone that can talk about 1920s Govan. There must be a few of you nearly old enough to remember ;)

I quote

I'm wanting to know what Goven was like at the time of the Ibrox redevelopment in the late-1920s.

The area has so many great buildings, so I'm just trying to paint a picture of what life was like in Govan then.

If anyone is intereted I can forward you the contact details of who to talk to.

Correct. He also designed the stadium at Parkhead and he was an advisor on the layout of Hampden Park.

Would HIGHLY recommend this book on Mr Leitch and all the other ones in the series.

A book called Played in Glasgow is on the horizon too, and if its as half as good as the other ones then it will be worth getting.
