Glasgow: Scotland with Manners

Postby Apollo » Sun Feb 18, 2007 9:56 am

Sorry for the title, but the abysmal, self-proclaimed Glasgow: Scotland with Style begs parody.

There's no link given to the original, but I read this morning that Glasgow came out top in a survey looking into the best mannered cities in Britain.

Sharing the accolade with Glasgow was Sheffield.

Bottom of the pile were Liverpool and Birmingham.

Apparently not even making it into the report was Edinburgh. Maybe they told the researchers to go get a real job.

Dear Apollo

It was kind of you to bring that to our attention, and I would like to thank you for doing so.

Yours Sincerely

Trudger

ps - where did you read it?

It doesn't exactly seem like the most exhaustive of research.

Kilmarnock shops were recently voted politest shops in the UK. That's why there have been four armed robberies in a week!

Dear Trudger,

Thank you being kind enough to take the time to read my humble post, however I find myself being forced to convey the intent of the (hopefully) well meant internet acronym of RTFM  :

In truth, all I had was a generously textual feed item, devoid of source attribution, but nonetheless deemed trustworthy.

That said, I would like to offer thanks to the generosity of Mark N, who was able to expand on my poorly provided offering.

Humbly, and with respect,

Apollo.
(Glasgow resident).

It is so warming to see some positive news for a change.

In the spirit of this topic. Thank you most kindly Apollo for drawing this to everyones attention.

I have always believed in the fellowship that is constantly displayed on Hidden Glasgow. The many people I have met on visits and at the Christmas Night Out may not always agree on some topics but they are friendly and welcoming in the true Glasgow spirit.

No doubt some will wish to report instances when good maners have not been applied by Glasgow's citizens.

Until then may I take this opportunity to wish everyone a full and healthy life and thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your fellowship.
