I was at a meeting there recently. Lovely function room overlooking Sauchiehall Street - not too noisy either. OK Indian finger snacks which were a bit late and not very very warm. Excellent, by all accounts, pastry stuff.

Front of house looks great but still a lot of work going on behind the scenes. The staircase didn't look as if it had been touched at all beyond a few chunks of thistle motif carpeting.

Anyone seen the public notices, page 30 of the Herald, today?

I take it this refers to the 'old' Lorne Hotel, and not the 'new' Kelvin Park Lorne Hotel?

And when are they going to do something with the rest of the sandstone building attached - at the moment they have only refurbished the bottom right corner rooms?

Winding up order granted to HMRC. It's not on the Herald website.

I passed earlier and the hotel is still open.

£11m hotel faces closure threat

The company behind a hotel in Glasgow’s West End faces being liquidated – just months after the building underwent an £11 million revamp.

Revenue and Customs wants to have Lorne Hotel Glasgow Ltd wound up.

I belive there's a contingency plan to reopen ASAP after any possible closure trading as Square Sliced Sausage 2010 Ltd.
