If you went round the corner maybe you would come to Bridge Street subway and then a straight road into Jamaica Street.

I would take a guess that it's Dumbarton Road, with the picture being taken from Kelvinhaugh Street

It is the right way around. Either that all the motorists are breaking the law.

I don't think the bend is that steep. If it was the bottom of hopehill road, there would be a distinctive sign for a pub on the right hand side

It, er, might have been icy and they've skidded across to the other side of the street. 8)

Sorry, I should have made myself a bit clearer. I mean't the junction of Argyle St and Kelvinhaugh Street looking towards the city centre. That would make the big assed tree behind you.

Having just walked along Argyle St, I can confirm without fear of contradiction that I was indeed talking pish

The only suggestion I can come up with is that it might be Springburn Road going towards Cowlairs. Sighthill Cemetery would then be behind the tenement on the left while the car on the right would be coming out of Petershill Road.

But even though I went up and down Springburn Road many times when I was on the buses during the late 60's / early 70's I cannot consciously remember whether it was built up to the extent shown in the picture.

So I'm not very confident about this suggestion. In any case it would now be impossible to take a picture for comparison as the area has been redeveloped beyond all recognition.

I just went for a swatch. Maryhill Road doesn't bend enough, and the buildings are wrong. On the plus side, it still has a damn fine chippy.

The tenements that back onto the cemetery are on a seperate high up side road though.
