What nobody has mentioned is the role that those 2 cubpoards on the first floor played.
If you look on the exposed part of the 2nd floor above, there are no such intrusions into the inner wall, which must be how the building is intended to be.
Surely this shows that the inner wall has been breached - twice on the same floor - causing the outer wall to have less connection to the inner wall, and for the whole thing to be compromised. It just doesn't seem like a coincidence to me, it looks like very poor/illegal interior building alterations.
