Christmas & New Year traditions invariably involve the ritual of the shaking of the hands. I'd not long stepped off the train at platform 13 in the Central this morning on the way to another days w*rk & had just finished taking a snap for the "Clock" thread, when I chanced upon our very own PGCC, who was, funnily enough, for that time of the day, on his own merry way to life fulfilling employment.
End result was, before and after passing 10 mins in idle chit chat, we preformed the aforesaid touching of palms. Fair set me up for the day it did, put a big smile on my wee fizzer, fair grip, has PGCC. See me, see easily pleased?

Reading your traditions brought a tear to my eye my maw and da done the same thing pished by 3pm fighting by 4pm we would all scatter to our rooms out of the way.One year my da put the telly out the windae how we laugh now (years of therapy)On a happier note do you remember putting the letter to santa up the chimmey and it going on fire and just praying you got tippy tummbles.... its a girl thing. small sherry anyone must keep the traditions alive

I've never tipped the binmen or postman but we used to tip the paperboy back in the day. I was at the delivery office yesterday for a package and the que outside the door was ten bodies long. It was a real United Nations food distribution system and was the sort of scene you would have if they gave away free scratch cards at a senior citizen jamboree.

i was always allowed to open a present on xmas eve but as i got older i just stayed up till midnight and opened everything then, but tip2tail isnt letting me do that this year

My dad tips his paperboy/girl has done it for as long as i remember.

I wish more folk tipped fuckin postmen.

So many sad stories. I'm glad I had a happy childhood, shit started hitting the fan after my dad walked out, his replacement wasn't good to be around. My mum is too nice.
