Although the crossing question is interesting, how does it get classed under the heading of 'Freedom of Information'?
Surely the real question here is why it was accepted/allowed to be asked under this legislation. Crossings aren't secret, hidden or restricted in who can enquire as to their location, and the records are presumably not subject any restrictions.
The enquiry is trivial, and the sort of thing that will lead to charges being levied, and restrictions possibly being placed on FOI enquiries in future as councils waste money in replying.
Unless the person making the enquiry originally was refused the info for some reason, this, and similar trivial or frivolous requests, are potentially harming the act.
Charges and restrictions are already being tabled, as you might have seen on the news in the past few days.
