Mr Bean's son takes on Glasgow:

odd, but strangely amusing.

some Friday night comedy on Ashton Lane:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dLnsIv9ZP0
:)! best bit is everyone walking past the meat wagon and looking in.

and new the opening of the new 'squinty' bridge:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4qy5hkEJlU
watch the sound half way through a wee girl screams at high pitch, nearly made my ears bleed.

and from the other side:

and the building of it (I like this):

Scenes from the 1980 Trans-Clyde promotional video.
(BTW it's an old tape, so even the picture & sound quality of the original isn't great).

Late 1970's, various transport scenes around the city, and the bosses talking about the plans.

Start of the Argyle Line modernisation.

Street scenes, Christmas, the Trans-Clyde weekend. The building work is nearing the end.

The Queen, with Phil in tow, opening the Underground. And an overview of the work.

Kwality. 8)

Look at the way the public are just walking about next to the construction work
in Argyle St. H&S would never allow that these days.

Good stuff Ken!

It make you realise just how effective and well thought through the whole Argyle Line/subway modernisation project was/is. It's a real shame we don't have anything like the same quality of thinking behind more recent transport planning.
