Hello all,

I'm Stephen, live in a small village in the Renfrewshire area called Houston.

I've got a great interest in the history of the areas around where I live. In particular I have an interest in the history of Glasgow Airport and was absolutely delighted to see the "Glasgow Airport Thread" which had a link to the Site Record with loads of pictures of the place, have spent ages building up a collection of pictures of the former airport (before BAA took it over and destroyed it pretty much, wiping all of it's history away  ). Another area of interest is the "Craigends" Estate which I've been looking around for pictures to do past-presents for a while now, so you may see some of that in the future :)

I discovered this excellent forum a few days ago and needless to say I ended up spending several hours browsing through the Past Present threads ::): .

Other interests include politics, website design and economics.

And yeah, that's me, look forward to contributing to the thread and learning more about the fascinating history of the city that is Glasgow and the areas outside it :)

Thanks.

Ah, only eight months between joining up and making a post...like a member of the house of Lords.

I'm John, native Glaswegian, though now in exile like so many.

My continuing connection with the city is to write crime fiction novels set there - various related website links should be attached to this post if I've set up the signature properly.

I promise to contribute again before another eight months pass!

Hello

I'm Julz, I'm 29 and I'm from Cumbernauld. I love photography, but until recently my love has been animal/wildlife photography. I've really got into landscapes since coming across some old photographs of when my family first moved to Cumbernauld and the changes since then which brought me here.

Fiona Diaz originally from Dunoon.
Now of Memphis, TN.
Lived in Cardonald about 25 years ago. All my mum's people were from Anderson. Then, after they flattened the area, they dispersed initially to Drumchapel.
I've loved Glasgow and her architecture since I was very small. I miss it dearly. Thanks so much for this forum.

Very pleased to have stumbled upon the site and forum: My name is keith and I was born like many a bairn in the 60s up on Yorkhill at the Queen Mums. If you are born at Rotten Row then you are harder than me no need for a punch up okay?

My dad was at John Browns, ship builder but he also built wee boats in his spare time so they moved out to the sticks to have space and launching possibilities so I grew up with fields, woods and beaches and hardly "ony uther bairns aroon". Always had a love affair with Glasgow though.

Studied up on Gilmour Hill 1986-90 and until 1990 meant Glasgow was a well kept secret. Year of bloody culture eh, let the cat oot the bag!

Work in the OIl industry in Norway with family who will maybe one day study or work in the dear-green-place I hope.

Into organising a photo shoot of "disappearing glasgow" with like minded heid cases when I am over some time.
