Hello

Postby balaclava » Thu Jun 28, 2007 9:16 pm

I plan to be a bit of a man of mystery.

Intrigued by what Glasgow does with its old schools and saw discussion about doing a project. I have accumulated some stuff including pics of a few schools but don't have time to post it just now. I'll be back next week. 8O

Here's a pic to start

You be careful Mr Balaclava with your innocent hobby of photographing schools. Best stick to weekends and holidays ;)

My first post here as a newbie .. hope I can fit in with the rest of you lovely, lovely people.

I've been lurking in the background following the goings on for a good few months now and can I say, this is a great wee Glasgow forum.

I live in Knightswood (for about ten years since my divorce), Drumchapel before that, although I was born in Kinning Park .. Ardgowan St. to be precise.

I'm an electrician who also works nights as a nightclub head doorman .. it pays the maintenance and keeps my wonderful daughter in depressing Goth clobber.

Anyway I wont 'first foot' without leaving something in return .. I've noticed a few posters' comments about buses and the subway so how is this for some nostalgia ...

Original Subway Breakdown.

I used to work on the underground (pre wally tiles that is!) so I thoroughly enjoyed this wee gem.

Thanks for accepting me into your midst .. eventually! It took a month or so for my submission to be accepted but I'm 'cock a hoop' it was.

Expect silliness, irreverence with the occasional lapse into the sensible.

Cheers [Doorstop].

I would say welcome Doorstop but where have you been already tonight? Have you had a drink already? Could you step over here and raise your arms? Anything sharp in here? No, seriously, you can't come in here with those shoes on!

Only joking, C'mon in. Just wipe your feet.

She said she likes to keep 'on top of things'. *snigger*

I like a woman in charge to be "In Charge".

I seem to remember a mention of a PayPal account which keeps this site both in order and in shoes .. can you remind me of the the link Sharon and I'll do my bit?

P.S. Cheesylion .. if I'd gained an ounce for the number of times I've spoken those words I'd be .. well .. dead really.

Hi all.

Like a lot of others, I've been skulking around here for a while. I've no links with Glasgow at all, and hardly even know the place other than through this here forum, but I do have:
1. A fair bit of time on my hands.
2. An unhealthy interest in what our cities were like before that whole 60s Comprehensive Redevelopment thing. (I was born in Dundee, and the buggers wrecked the place.)
3. A fondness for old photos and suchlike.
4. A recent interest in photography, but bugger all competence, needing all the tips I can get...

Anyhow, I'll shut up now, apart from to say it's a great site. Cheers!

:D
