hi all...........been reading posts on this site for a few days now ...only found this site because i was working on a refurb job on king street and wanted to find out more of the buildings history ....its the building above the 13th note pub and i belive it was a school uniforms factory?? hey-ho great site guys

Hi Stevie, there used to be loads of places all over the Merchant City like that. I used to deliver to places that made school, polis and traffic warden uniforms, not to mention stuff for M & S and loads of other places. Some right scary goods hoists back in the day.

Hello everybody

Sorry if this, or something similar, appeared just before as I seem to have got cut off in midstream (somebody must know something!!).

Fantastic website. Heartiest congratulations to all involved.

Born in Southern General, brought up in Crosshill. Lived in Shawlands, Giffnock and Clarkston amongst other places.

Interested in all things Glasgow but especially railways.

Hopefully will be able to participate in the forums a bit more than have done since originally "signing on".
