Hi!

I'm a Social Worker, living in London (where they pay Social workers in real money and not in Irn Bru bottles)

Planning to move back when global warming kicks in.

Love the site.

Only on a Glasgow website would you be welcomed with an insult. And, having lived in a City where people feign niceness for so long, I'm miserably ill-equiped to retaliate. All I can think of saying is: We must do lunch sometime, darling

Lunch sounds good, As long as you're buying, I can't be arsed carrying that many empty irn-bru bottles to pay for it. ::):

Howdy all,

Long time lurker who has very much enjoyed HG over the past few years - in particular the tunnels under the city centre, which I now bore all my pals to tears about any time we pass a green ventilation shaft ::):

Hope to babble more shite in the future.

Hi, i have been looking at the site for a while, joined a few weeks ago. I have lived and worked in glasgow all my life and can't believe the changes in the city. Interested to see the old pictures of cowcaddens, i worked in Dallas's as a saturday boy, also did a stint in Arnotts, Muirheads? and Hoeys in Victoria road. All before i quit and got a real job.
I Live on the south side of the city, and am keen on photography.

My apologies - this is a belated introduction because I've just noticed the thread!

Joined Glasgow Fire Service in 1972 after an abortive attempt at being an Engineering Apprentice with Chrysler in Linwood. Only was going to stay in the fire brigade for a few months until I found something better - well, the "few months" turned into 25 years.

Very interested in the history of the fire brigade in Glasgow and have been working away researching it for a few years now, nothing too deep, but its been a voyage of discovery for me.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here over the last couple of months, with many of the contributions being absolutely fascinating - and look forward to reading many more.

Fireman.
