I'd say Girvan

But the last time I was there was a couple of years ago so it's possible that it's changed by now (but I doubt it)

Cumnock. It is truly awful.

And Morton75, I think given your username, you're mibbe a wee bit prejudiced against Paisley

I second the motion. Even your bravest of Glesga ned is cautious about going to Paisley.

I have to nominate Portsoy
Place is full of beardy/wierdys all fire and brimstone don't think anyone should go there in fact they should brick it up and tear up the road.

If per chance you do happen to find yourself in this little village that Is no doubt sponsored by Hammer Productions leave before it gets dark.
Did a job up here a long time ago when i was in glazing...Happened to pass through it in the winter when the main road from Aberdeen to inverness was closed so used the coast road.
Guess what the glass work was the newest part of the village.

All the pubs shut a 6pm thought it was for their dinner yeah right opened again at 2pm next day.
I also carry the curse that was given to me because i wanted the job cleared on a weekend.
The entire town it seemed turned up on the sabbath to eject us from the site.
They wanted us ejected from the town but settled on a curse....
Till the job was finished i Hope.

Did some work in Drongan in Ayrshire once, what a tip. It made the hillbillies in Deliverance look like Hooray Henry's

I agree with Shazbat on Cumnock. Why do most of the shops shut early on a Saturday?

Or how about Dalmellington which tried to become the official Book Town despite not having a book shop.

Lanarkshire is an entire burgh of worst towns.

Holytown, Mossend (the best bit is the scrappy), Newarthill (no buses dare drive the streets after 6pm), Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge (works christmas night out in Coatbridge remains one of the most hair raising experiences of my life), Motherwell, Cleland, Newhouse, the list goes on and on.

Topping the lot though is Chapelhall. It's like the real life Royston Vasey.

Nah yer all wrong !!!

Helensburgh is the biggest sh*te hole on the entire planet never mind Scotland. I can justify this because I spent 21 years in this god foresaken town.

I quote from a local Ned "It's like the Wicker Man oan acccciddddd"

If its no the sailors fresh of the boat its the Neds from Kirkmichael that are bringing it down.

Shuts down at 23:30 last train out to Glasgow and has one club called dare I say it BJ's that has now lost its license thank f**k.

Save yourself and move to Glasgow. That includes you Cheesy Lion if you have not already escaped.

Gratifying to see no-one has as yet nominated the 'Nauld.

Coatbridge is quite crap. I used to work there - the only town in Scotland where a man with two matching shoes is considered a dandy.

Motherwell is god-awful.

But Harthill is the daddy of the bad towns. It takes the garibaldy biscuit.

Brother in law has recently moved to Dunbarton. What a shithole (Dunbarton that is, not the B.I.L).
