Why all the bus stuff? Why 90% of Random Distractions? Why Dexter St Clair???. These things just happen when you open a forum to the public...

People seem to have an interest in crap towns - there's an annual award, even book a few years ago.

It's gotta be up there... when I visited it was windswept, cold, grey and it felt like the entire town had packed up and left for the day, there wasn't a soul around.

Why my friend it's obvious. To mock the parasitic conurbation of Glasgow!

And ultimately so we can all disagree with each other and pick big internet fights! ::): ::):

I resent that ya cheeky khant! ::): When has DSC ever said anything with sincerity?

I'm asking is there a point to kicking a dog when it's down, and is anyone wondering about what could be done?

Or have we all just got bored with the Pollok thread?

RK there's no need to take it personally, I asked an honest question! If you feel the need to be more derisory on hindsight could you at least take a new post - give a guy a chance to respond?

There's lots that can be done. I'm sure Ardrossan's terrible reputation is a major reason why it received masses of funding for its Harbour development.

Wigtown was a totally pointless place until somebody came up with the brilliant wheeze of "National Book Town". Cost very little to implement and now the place is well worth an overnight visit just to browse round the 20 or so bookshops.

Stage one in this process of regeneration is identifying just how terrible a place is. If awards like "Worst Town" and books like this assist in that process then they can be no bad thing.
