Is that the post 38 that goes to Garthamlock where patrons shout "does this bus go tae the Bar-L mate?"

Eau de Pish seems a popular fragrance in Glasgow.

heh indeed, im at the posh end (cough newlands/giffnock/eastwood piss artists)

Ooooh, get you.

I'd like to add though that I do not live in a posh area, as much as I'd like. It just amazes me who little care people have for public property. I also think MP3 players should be supplied on buses by First to drown out the inane shit people talk too.

Hmm time to update my tunes for tonights journey and have a camomile tea ::):

Wouldn't be hard really. They do seem to be the most moronic bunch.

The Polish guys seem to be pretty friendly. At least they give you a civil answer if you ask the fare.

The thing that gets me about the talk, is that it's so loud. Even with an
MP3 player up full, you can still hear them hammering on. It's either
put up with the "ya dobber, awerite pal, buckkie" lingo or damage your
hearing trying to drown out their bile. I'm awaiting a response from
First, in connection with the eventuality of being kitted out with a
hearing aid.

Can't beat a civil answer regardless of nationality. A friend was in
Warsaw last year and was amazed by the manners of people. I wouldn't
be surprised the UK is probably the most ill mannered country in Europe.

I invested in a pair of Etymotic ER6i isolating headphones and they cut most external sounds out. This means that you don't have to play your mp3 player too loudly and risk hearing damage.

Another fuckin annoyance, when the bus stop pennant numbers a service, but according to the driver they don't actually stop there

Surely it isn't too difficult to put a wee blank sticker over the redundant number on the pennant.

Just before 8pm tonight I was walking along Cathedral street after visiting a sick relation at the Royal Infirmary, when i glanced over my shoulder and spotted my bus - unfortunatly I was between stops and didnt think i'd have a hope in hell's chance - but fair play to the driver he stopped for me..... so their not all bad.

They are a mixed bunch, i've had conversations with decent drivers, so I don't want to be too harsh.
I think it's certain scummy passengers, & management, that turn a lot of them sour.

On a 56 yesterday the driver went across three lanes to pick up a passenger on Hope Street who was a bit late in indicating she wanted on the bus. :D

I agree with the manners of people, sometimes the language and attitude given to drivers is atrocious, so i dont blame them for being grumpy.

Sadly its the same to all employees who have to deal with the public, i think they need to learn the following 2 sentences.....

1 - Please
2 - Thank You

It doesnt kill to use them.

I always use that, but not even an acknowledgement of me being polite.

My friend worked on the buses years ago and he told me that the drivers would enjoy getting together to swap stories about what they did to "get" punters that day.

Was this topic moved ? I'm all confused now :o

I must admit, before I decided to concentrate on other things, I took the initial driving assessment to become a First driver. (It was in a mini bus, and I failed it  )

If i'd became a bus driver I wonder what my life would be like now. Worse, better ? 8O

Ken I am sure you would have made a great driver. Their loss.
