Noticed it last night, also spotted that the letter K is missing from the street search. Not much good when you're looking for pics of Kilmarnock Rd. I've emailed them about this  Can't be the councils fault as they don't make mistakes. ::):

Looks nicer... BUT

Why oh why oh WHY have they put the big image wthin a scrolling frame thus introducing a superfluous set of scroll bars? If you need to scroll whats wrong with browser scrollbars?

AND what about those who have really small screen ... you might have to scroll the browser in order to be able to scroll the image scroll bars.

Usability DISASTER ... GET RID OF them!

Given the majority of folks would have been able to see the big images wthout scrolling at all, this is a step backwards from before!!!

Just noticed the "zoomed view" of the pictures doesn't show the whole picture sometimes. It's trapped inside their content frame, and has an additional scrollbar at the bottom.

In a fit of boredom at work I've had a go at fixing it. If you use Firefox or Mozilla and have the greasemonkey extension, or have Opera 8/9 and know how userscripts work then....

You can download this wee script that'll "re-jig" the page layout.

Lord Roberts in 1915?

Hardly. He died in 1914. Seems they took no notice of my email about this...

Thanks Ken

Had to find this out through HG

I would be happy to pass on any comments to the relevant person.

I imagine the reason for not changing the mistakes as highlighted by Doc will be that they were only changing the layout not the content as this will be done when more images are uploaded.

Incidently Doc who did you email?

From what I can see - all that's been done is to change the virtual mitchell to the councils "corporate image" styling.

I noticed they've still got the pictures of St. George's Road Secondary School and the old Bellahouston Academy transposed, which is something I pointed out to them last year. As far as I'm aware a number of other pictures have got mixed up in similar fashion. It will be interesting to see whether this gets rectified as part of the revamp.

Maybe they should have got/asked folk from Hg just to verify locations and buildings
