I feel a bit bad for a couple of the existing shops as they'll be hit hard - but some of them deserve it.

Had a peek in today. The Greggs is now separated off from the Tesco. But it's still all breezeblock and rubble. I'll be amazed if it's done this side of Christmas!

I take it that means conservation area? I'm tempted to say it's a bit bloody late, but that would be cruel.

Much needed indeed! It's great just having shops instead of decaying shutters on that stretch. I've been hoping for something like that to open for about ten years now :D

Thanks for that Mori (how do you find all your info?)

Though if it actually happens there are several hats I'll be chomping down.

Getting back on my hobby horse about the criminally short-sighted lack of action on a direct route through from Cessnock underground station, and the council's equally criminal neglect of the water features in Festival Park - last year there were tadpoles in the stream even though the water hadn't been flowing for ages, this year there's no water. Letters to the usual suspects coming up....

Does anyone know what the Clachan is bieng turned into?
So far the brick front has been turned into blue shutters but the sign is still there.
Are we getting some shinny new shops?

Wondered that myself..... it's not that there seems to be a huge demand for extra shop premises along there.

Still, the area is obviously moving up in the world - the first charity shop has appeared, diagonally across from the station. My neighbours (dedicated scavengers) were sorely disappointed when they moved in several years ago that there wasn't a single charity shop nearby.

Herald Reporting on PQ a few days ago.

Latest masterplan for the remaining areas of PQ.

The new masterplan for Glasgow’s Pacific Quay was commissioned by Scottish Enterprise as part of a review of all of its landholdings in the area. The proposals, designed by 7N Architects with support from Arup and Turner Townsend, build on Scottish Enterprise’s success in attracting major new occupiers to the Digital Media Quarter and are focused on tackling the economic and placemaking issues which have recently constrained development. This fresh approach is intended to establish a dynamic framework for
cultivating a diverse range of uses and activities to make the place a vibrant neighbourhood within the Creative Clyde area.

Thanks David. Long ago it was a decent bar. I think now the Old Toll bar is the only pub I'd visit in that area.

The Merchant's Quay is tolerable. It's the only one I've been in more than once, if at all.
