I don't know why they bothered covering the houses with tarpaulin. Some of them would look much better after a few streaks across them. Apparently the maisonettes aren't that old?

From SSC

Skyescraper wrote:A great project for Toryglen and the city as a whole, but not exactly wonderful news regarding the state of the film industry up here.
I was contacted last weekend about working as part of the camera team and cut my holiday in Lewis short to travel for 10 hrs back to Glasgow. I was delighted at the opportunity to work on such an exciting filming project with a top class director.
I was made aware on the day previous to the camera prep that my normal daily rate could not be met and was so appauled at what I was being offered that I had to turn it down. A few other assistants I have spoken to have been treated in the same fashion.

Most of the HODs and crew are up from London on full rates with top class accomodation and expenses yet a certain LOCAL production company has decided to exploit it's local crew, some working 12-18 hour days for free.
Projects like this coming to the city should be a great opportunity for local crew to get involved and earn decent wages, not an opportunity to exploit the good will of keen young film makers when there is clearly a huge amount of money being thrown at it.

It is fairly common of course to have crew working for free or very little in Scotland in order to make their break in the industry when there is very little money involved in the production and wages cannot be afforded. This project however, is at the complete opposite end of the spectrum and is probably the highest profile commercial Glasgow is ever likely to see.

Anyway, enough of my biterness! Should be a very exciting project to see happening. If any of you do get photos, please do post as I am back up on Skye enjoying the rest of my erm, holidays...

Queens Court . . . in color

Postby futureTom » Sat Jul 22, 2006 7:37 pm

Sorry its not such a good shot, but when the first explosion happened, I lost all composure and composition [ and a little bit of dignity ].

I was expecting all the little blue charges on the side to go bang, but that won't happen until Monday at six o'clock.

Another Glasgow tower in the news today.

ET

City block at centre of Twin Towers probe

A GLASGOW tower block will be set on fire after other sky flats were given a special paint job at the weekend.

As revealed by the Evening Times on Friday a disused building was splattered with paint for a spectacular new Sony worldwide television advert.

Now, another building is to be destroyed in an effort to understand why the Twin Towers collapsed after being hit by hijacked planes on September 11, 2001.
