Ah, the glorious Selfridges site is back in the media eye.

"The Selfridges site is now a breeding ground for rats
and other vermin."

"Other vermin"... mmmh we talking mutants on the Trongate?

Passed it many times and not seen a rat yet, but seen
many a mutant mind.

The Gallowgate is festooned with rats. They come out at around dusk. If you haven't seen any you must be blind because they ain't shy.

I am sure we have had this conversation before. I live on the Gallowgate, come and go all the time, and have NEVER seen a rat. I have perfect vision and I know very well what a rat looks like, so I can only assume this is another one of those myths that are perpetuated in order to keep house prices up in the West End :)

Rats live in bins... I have seen them in all corners of Glasgow irerespective of snobbery, they come out at dusk. Kick a bin on the way past if you doubt me!

the only place i've ever seen rats in Glasgow is beside the Royal Infirmary (esp. the car park across the road) and some of them are quite big!

oh and that reminds me...
once years ago when going to visit someone in hospital, me and my brother were walking along to the entrance where some trampy looking guy was mumbling/repeating "ya don't wanna be with the rats, noooooo ya don't wanna be with the rats, mixing with the shat and worse than cats, nooooo ya don't wanna be with the rats..."

I've seen two in my garden :( One was battling with the crows & pigeons for some stale bread i'd thrown out for them.
