Smoking

Where are the best places for smokers to go these days, post ban?

I quite like The Primary (the old Hog's Head) on Woodlands with it's big canopy outside.

Outside a pub! ::):

Thanks to the smoking ban, you can now see the sort of customer that uses pubs....and 99% of smokers are the ugliest f*ck*rs that you'll ever see!

How about a ban on UGLY PEOPLE standing in the street?

There were about 50 people smoking outside the bingo at Partick Cross last night, really bizarre. I didn't want to rile them by taking a photo...

Go to Borders Books, buy a copy of Allen Carr's Easyway To Stop Smoking, read it, stop killing yourself, then go to any pub you like....

Next time you're waiting to go through the till at the supermarket, take a good look at the people in the queue standing at the fag counter - you may notice a similar degree of ugliness.

Is it true that the carpark between The Primary and the STUC building now has a pay and display ticket machine installed?

Just before the ban I decided to ditch the cigs because I didn't want to be standing outside pubs etc. in the rain. Got myself some patches and some chewy and have been "clean" for 2months 1 wk and 2 days :)
It's not easy but hopefully I won't go back to it.

Smoking

Postby frank dawson » Wed May 31, 2006 10:35 am

:D
I curse the day when I began smoking and I admire people who manage to cure the craving for the weed.
I was eleven years old when my pals and I found a packet of Capstan cigs. slightly damp while we were on our way to school.
Next day we went into the air raid shelters and had a fag each.
We went the usual sickly colour and thought we were big men.
I was a great cinema lover in those days and all one saw on the screen was stars puffing away at fags.
No government warnings of the potential health hazards in those days.
My grandchildren tell me it is a filthy habit and I agree.
Over the last 20 odd years I have tried time and time again to stop but the habit of 60 years is extremely hard for some people.
This is in contrast to my wife's experience .
She, like myself was a 10 a day smoker and the day before her Quadruple heart bypass operation in Glasgow Royal Infirmary 7 years ago we stood outside the hospital and she smoked 3 cigarettes. From that moment she has never smoked another one and did not need patches.
Yesterday, once again, I began my umteenth attempt to give up the devil weed and I hope that this time I will succeed.
On my recent hospital visit I went outside for a fag and what did I see?
Nurses standing outside having a puff.
When will we all learn?

Wonder why they don't market that brand anymore. ::):
