nippy sweetie factory

Postby Cazzie » Sun May 21, 2006 7:17 pm

hope someone can help me with something I've always wondered...

the late lamented Captain George in the Radio Clyde eye in the sky used to refer to certain city landmarks when he was doing the traffic reports. He used to talk about the "nippy sweetie factory". No one I asked knew what this was. Any ideas?

I thought it might be a name for something else....eg Barlinnie he called "The Big Hoose".

I was thinking it might have been a girl's school or college?

Could be on the wrong track there guys, did Billy Connoly not use the term "nippy sweetie" to refer to a glass of whisky??

Could therefore be a distillery or bottling plant perhaps??

I'd thought a nippy sweetie was a female on a short fuse?
