Anyone a fan of one of Glasgows most neglected musical sons?

When I was young, why goodness me, I used to dream all day.
Of Elephants and Crocodiles and places far away.
But of all things weird and wonderful,
It's very strange but true...
Although I love my teddy bear,
I like monsters too...

Anybody remember the stripper on stage when they played 'Delilah'? 8O

I saw SAHBs three shows at the Apollo in 1975, not through choice, I worked there. I'd never heard of them before but they were three of the best shows I ever saw.

Fans of the SAHB may be interested to know they were performing Boston Tea Party on this week's Top Of The Pops 1976.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... 8_07_1976/ about 16 minutes in. Alex appears to have forgotten to put his trousers on.

Died far to young did Alex.
His family were from Govanhill, and even in '76, when he was reasonably famous, you could still see him there, visiting. We lived round the corner, and I used to see him. He still had time to speak to us, even though we were a bunch of teenagers, at the time.

I never really "got" him or the band back in the day (and missed out on some great Apollo gigs)

Now ! I think they are brilliant Zal Cleminson great guitarist and Alex is up in the top three of all time great front men.
and it was this performance that got me hooked

The main problem, Bridie, was he was inconsistent and I say that as a fan.
Lets say that too often, towards the end he could be tired and emotional, if you know what I mean.
On form he was great.

Saw SAHB 3 times and always gave full value; but this event was a cracker.
