movie cameras

Postby Toby Dammit » Sun May 14, 2006 12:06 am

I've had many a similar experience, though one of my best Glasgow photo's came from a couple of kids in Gardener Street asking if I could take their picture. I shot it without really thinking, but the result was excellet.

It gets even worse if you're using a film camera. If I had a penny for every time I've heard the dreaded "Ur yoos makin' a film?" question, only to be followed by the inevitable (and puzzling abuse), I'd could easily have bought something in an "Everything's Two Pounds" shop.

Film cameras make more noise and you need a tripod, hence more visibility.

I'm not sure about that. I have a Canon 20D and the first picture I took, I nearly jumped out of my skin when I pressed the shutter button 8O 8O

The most discreet camera I've ever used was an Olympus XAII. The shutter was almost totally silent, and I shot a whole series of photos in Moscow (which was exhibited at the GFT (and some other places) back in 1995) on it. You still got great looking prints at 12x16.

I'd started working there with a Nikon, but it was just so bloody big and obvious it was impossible to get what I was after.

Sadly, the Olympus is knackered now, but it was a fabby wee machine.

Right enough, EVERYBODY in dennistoun wears farmfood bags on their heid in the rain. Gie yersel a shake.

NO cunt does anywhere. At least not for the last 15 years or so.

although I saw an elderly Sikh chap with a poly bag covering his turban a couple of weeks ago in the town.

My Mother still does, much to the chagrin of her grandchildren, tis only a minor sin in the great scheme of things.

Same angle, different time of day.....

P.S - I have these native sized at 7.1 Megapixels. Might take wee while to e-mail but the full sized photos are nice.
