Sorry to bring up an old topic but does anyone have anymore info on the Sick Childrens Dispensary on West Graham Street?

As i've always wondered about this building as well.

An hour n a quarter?! Holy christ!

The sculpture dept use that building, it's connected to the Barnes Building next door.

Yorkhill has been the kids hospital for as long as I know, my dad worked there in the 60s/70s before they left Glasgow, so was there once a childrens hospital in the city centre somewhere?

The building stood at 9 / 13 West Graham Street and was a Dispensary for Sick Children, built in 1884 to a design by the architect James Sellars.

I think the original Sick Children's Hospital (predecessor of Yorkhill) was in Garnethill also, along at Scott Street.

Wonder if this was the hospital that I had my tonsils removed in the early 60's - me and about sixty other kids in the ward.
Seem to remember a taller building and maybe somewhere around Blythswood area?

More likely to be the Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital at the corner of Elmbank St/ St Vincent St where Dalmore House is now.
I hear the people sing.

Probably the ENT Hospital. A search has it at 306 St Vincent St, old map shows a hospital at the corner of St Vincent and Elmbank. I'm sure there was a building nearer the town end, possibly Wellington or W Campbell St
