I shall take you up on your challenge on Monday.
I'm going in undercover with a wire (like Al Pacino in Serpico).
It's about time the bakery chain known as Greggs was exposed for what it really is....

Is the dead horse bakery still there at Trongate? I think it was Dalziels... they had a picture of a horse presumably rolling on it's back in delight at their cakes, but looked like it had carked it.

Caused much mirth in us up from the sticks for the day.

Now you are talking, Dalziels Danish Pastries were the business. Us country bumpkins loved them. Cumbernauld even had three of the shops we loved their cholesterol inducing pastries so much.

That was the City Bakeries, and I'm sure there's a pic of it on here somewhere but I can't be arsed looking for it.

Not a bakers as such but Betty's Pie Shop in Westmuir Street sells the best pies in Glasgow. Greasy? yes but the reason is that they don't fill it with stuff to hold the grease!! pour it off and enjoy. BTW their apple pies are great and they get their meat from another local shop Wm Kean Butcher. Must be the best sausages in Glasgow and a well kept secret. Traditionally made and pure brill.
