Only change will be instead of Class 156/158 Sprinters , the trains will be formed of 318/334 emu stock.

Not expecting any wholesale changes to timetable although trains may extend beyond Whifflet to Motherwell & then serve the line to Cumbernauld via Coatbridge Central in the way that some of the DMU's do

According to sources on the Scot-Rail site Whifflet services will be going via the Low Level instead of the High Level, terminating at Anderston and using the Exhibition Centre turnback siding which is currently only used at peak times, at the other end Whifflet will continue to be the terminus, the Whifflet line DMUs do not serve Cumbernauld, that is a completely different roster. There is no possibility of extending to Cumbernauld as there is no turnback facilities at Whifflet. Extending to Motherwell seems logical but I think there are capacity problems at Motherwell or else the current Diesel service would have done that by now. There is however talk of integrating this service in an electrified Shotts line timetable once that happens

I've been using the Megabus site to try and get on a Virgin train from Glasgow to Preston. The only problems I've had previously were catching a train at a decent time to. But I've just spent a half hour with a various combination of destinations and dates and on every occasion the page has returned me No journeys have been found for the date selected

Even when I bump the date back a day or forward it's the same message.

Anyone have any inside knowledge?

RENOVATION work being undertaken at Glasgow Queen Street has uncovered the remains of old signage at the station’s lower level.

The signs, appearing to be handpainted, carry the names of suburban stations on the network, such as Jordanhill and Alexandra Parade.

Built prior to the Glasgow Subway, the Low Level line between the High Street, Queen Street and Charing Cross is the oldest underground railway in the city.

It is a shame that these were not kept as this was part of the stations history! I suppose they just got thrown in a wagon and broken up.

Thankfully that's not the case they have been given to riverside museum, though they are not on display yet

As they put the cars on the wall dont be surprised if the sign gets displayed on the floor.

Godd to see the Royal Scots Grey Deltic still rumbling around, passing across Gorbals Street this morning.
