Aly, it was not my intention to cause any offence and if I have I apologize.

I may be aboard your nomiker shortly, I assume the title was chosen after the loco not the horse.

You Guys Are Clued Up On Your Stuff So I Will Leave Location Out!
When Was The Old Bridge "Retired" New One Built?
As A Teenager I Used To Climb Up The Wall and Go Onto The
New Bridge Maintenance Path Underneath It.
On Having A Look Recently I Thought "If I'm Going To Do This Again
I Will Need 3.6m Ladder"
I Had Balls Then......
But I Will Not Rule Out This In The Future With Ladders :D

Daft Question for the regular train travellers, and im asking this as a few on my train today never knew about it.

Are you aware when the trains in glasgow go tits up that you can use your tickets on first bus via any reasonable route?

I had a few on my arrochar today saying they never knew after the chaos last night, used to be that you had to get a voucher from central/qst, but now you just show the ticket, i take that the bus drivers are alerted via radio, as we get alerted via tyrrel and it comes up on journeycheck

Former ScotRail boss in bid to win back franchise

FORMER ScotRail chief Mary Grant is to bid to win back the franchise for National Express after the firm was today shortlisted along with incumbents FirstGroup, Dutch rail offshoot Abellio, Arriva and MTR of Hong Kong.

Mrs Grant will attempt to re-capture the franchise for a second time after securing it for Aberdeen-based FirstGroup in 2004 from National Express.

Fjord over on "the other place" provided me with the following photos (His comments also)

Kelvinbridge Station during the summer of 1968,this was the scene in glorious Technicolor.

Just look at the wooden detailing on those panels, not unlike that found on West Highland line stations also built by Glasgow architect James Miller. I wonder why the river was blocked from view from the station with the elaborate woodwork, was it purely cosmetic or to keep out the elements?
Image

Close up showing the attention to detail on the exterior. Check out the large oil stain next to the cut out section of the planks at the abutment and the heavily soiled stonework. Looks like someone has been furtively tipping oil into the river over a period of time!

Yes Bridie, you do.
