Edit:

Panic over, I've checked with a Network Rail contact at Central Station, who tells me that the gates are being restored in their original "glorious caley" colours and should be re-installed in around 5 weeks.

I passed through Central Station this morning and delighted to report that the cast iron Caledonian Railway gates have been re-hung after recent refurbishment.

Winter Diesel Gala Saturday 29 December

http://www.bkrailway.co.uk/winter-diese ... -released/

Bo'ness & Kinnel railway have just released the timetable for this. If you want to do

something different between Christmas and New Year, why not re-live

the sounds and smells of these great diesel engines of the Swinging

Sixties which took us to work and for a day out at the seaside right

up to the 1980s. There’s even a bar on board so you can enjoy some

festive cheer! Find more info via the link above

A nostalgic steam train journey in a cosy carriage, complimentary hot drink and a slice of traditional Hogmanay black bun for the adults and shortbread and juice for the kids will make a perfect family treat to end the year together in style at this unique event. More info here
