primary school playground banter

Postby mustardman » Thu Nov 24, 2005 4:37 pm

As a kid, I remember that if you got up to something naughty...i.e. pulling someones hair, spit etc. Fellow kids (more girls often than not), would threaten to "grass" you up...there was a phrase used by the kids....................youked on. Kids would shout 'you are youked on' (in a kind of melody)repeatadly, while there first finger was curled and pointed in a stabbing manner.

My early days were in Tollcross(circa 1985), so maybe this is an east end thing???

can someone tell me if they know WTF I'm talking about?
