Has mapping from years ago, free. The Glasgow maps are too old for most railways etc. but it's a handy site if you're looking for old features etc.

this is definetely the best of the free mapping sites. multimap is too slow. streetmap's not bad. the best feature of getamap is, click on the link to get a printable copy. find out what the url of that image is, then save it to your pc (they're only temporary copies, so don't last forever). tadaa, a 700Kb OS map of your chosen location

Dragging this thread back up as it seems the closest match....

The National Library for Scotland launched a new digital mapping thing yesterday.

http://geo.nls.uk/indexes/default.html

It gives all the same maps as getamap, but also zooms in much further, you can even find yer hoose on it. Excellent and much more detailed than multimap.

Only good for inside buildings with smooth floors, but this could be pressed into service for taking point duty in explorations:

Even ready fitted with laser for zapping nosey security guards

Alternatively, take 2 (or more) and play the laser tag game in a hidden location.

I'm jealous. As an ex RC-car builder and TV-ham, I couldn't even go buy half the parts let alone build something like this for the money.
