Im at phase two with them, well phase two was on Friday there. Hope I get through to phase 3 - the interview.

Don't quote me but I think it's a 3 phase affair to get a job, or perhaps its just the post i'm going for.

Fingers crossed. I'll be a wreck if I've failed phase two.

It's the mistakes that your spellchecker does not pick up that are the most embarassing. Luckily enough the council's clerical staff will correct your errors without mentioning them.

If it wasn't for the fact that I've had a few pints at this
stage in the evening. I would think that last statement
was rather philosophical.

Phase 1 is the application - experience, qualifications, education, personal statement etc..

Phase 2 was an invite to HQ (GCC social work hq) for a group discussion and a written exercise and info session. *free water n coffee and a huge board room.

Phase 3 is the final phase - the interview. *here's hopin it goes well.

Well that's the way its running for me and my mate she's doing law, well she's at phase 1.

in response to the orginal post

i've applied for numerous jobs with the council and have never had an interview

but i know someone who used to have a high paid admin job with the council, and i suppose you'd be thinking that she held a relevant degree/diploma? nope! she did fashion design at college...
oh and her father once worked for the council...
