I hope you spell checked that Calton boy. If not some of your stereotypical neighbours might be wondering how you can rhyme it off without thinking.
I am reminded of my friend running a bells and buzzers quiz night. His dad asked him to do one at his own bowling club in Shettleston. It was that successful he was invited to run the knock out quiz at Carmyle Bowling Club.
Even although he spotted the floor to ceiling portrait of our current monarch he did not think to review his questions. In the tense final he reached for a starter question. "When was the last year in which we had three popes" A buzzer rang immediately and the answer given without hesitation. A hush fell on the lounge and evey eye turned to the quiz contestant who seemed to know that everyone was thinking "How did you know that? "
As he spluttered about hearing it at another quiz the Quizmaster congratulated him on scoring three points.
The team captain responed with "We don't want them!"
If the story sounds familiar it's because I advised my mate to send it in to the Herald Diary. This was the pre SMG days and a he won a bottle of whisky which he shared with his dad (not me unfortunately)
The answer was 1978 if you are interested when according to Wikepedia
